Safety Protocols

To date, the study of forest canopies has been remarkably free of incidents involving injury or death to climbers. Some study sites offer training in canopy safety, but, in most cases, individuals are responsible for their own learning and promotion of a strong safety ethic and methods. This database provides information on safety in the canopy, including safe rigging, access, and rescue techniques, as well as literature and web sources of information.
